Ukrainian citizen Valery Zubytsky, captured by the pirates near the banks of Nigeria, should return to Ukraine on October 30; Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine reported on Twitter.

A Ukrainian was one of 12 members of the crew of the captured Swiss merchant vessel MV Glarus.

'Thanks to everyone who helped to save the crew of Swiss merchant vessel MV Glarus abducted by the pirates on September 22 in Nigerian territorial waters. One of 12 members of the crew is Ukrainian Valery Zubytsky who should return home to Odesa tomorrow,' the minister wrote.

As we reported on September 22, the pirates captured the Swiss merchant vessel MV Glarus. It was carrying a load of wheat. It left Lagos, Nigeria and headed to Port Harcourt. The pirates boarded the vessel on the way to the southwest of Bonny Island, having captured 12 crew members out of 19.

Earlier, the Ukrainians were also abducted by the pirates in the waters of Nigeria. Later, they were released.
