The report states that the newly appointed bishop is 38 years old and he will become the youngest Catholic bishop in the world.

Shevchuk reported this in an interview with the Religious Information Service of Ukraine.

According to him, the Greek Catholics of Ukraine have had de facto patriarchy for a while.
"The patriarchate is being built, it is not given yet, but it is recognized. On our part, we do everything to function as the patriarchal Church. And the issue of recognition (creation or declaration, - 112 Internatioinal) is a question that relates to the decision of the Ecumenical Bishop and we respect the freedom of his decision, "Shevchuk said.

He noted that much has already been done to recognize the Ukrainian Greek Catholics patriarchate.
