Officers of Ukrainian and U.S. Air Forces held a memorial ceremony and opened the monument to their late fellows Seth Nehring and Ivan Petrenko.

These airmen lost their lives in the accident that happened during the Clear Sky 2018 drills. The pilots were killed in the crash of Su-27 fighter jet of Ukraine's Air Force that occurred on October 16, 2018.

"U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Quinn and U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Hill joined our Ukrainian partners in solemnly dedicating a memorial to honor the American and Ukrainian pilots who tragically lost their lives in a plane crash during the 2018 Clear Sky exercise. We strive to honor these individuals, who sacrificed their lives in pursuit of peace and security, through our continuing, strong U.S.-Ukraine partnership", reads the statement on the Facebook page of the U.S.
