Two Ukrainian rescue aircrafts, which were sent to Israel, began to fight forest fires in the country. It is reported by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service.
"As of 12:00 on November 26 the State Emergency Service flight crew took part in a meeting of the operational headquarters involving representatives of Israel, during which sides defined the tasks of the operation. An-32P aircraft carried out exploration on the terrain and started fighting forest fires", said in a statement.
Earlier, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the Ukrainian side to provide firefighting planes for up to 7 days to assist in extinguishing large-scale fires in the country. Soon, the Ukrainian party sent two aircrafts to Israel.
Earlier it was reported that 12 regions of Haifa were evacuated due to wildfires. According to the message, Israeli police is implementing such actions for the first time ever. It is also noted that people are accommodated in the Auditorium theater in Merkaz Carmel, Beit Aba Hushi, in Bat Galim and on the old stadium at Kiryat Eliezer.
Police believes, some wildfires were resulted from intentional arson, possibly on the nationalist grounds.
