The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has prevented the smuggling of a record consignment of heroin to the European Union. This was reported by the SBU’s press service.
As a result of a long multi-pronged special operation, the Security Service managed to document the illegal activities of a transnational organized criminal group with Turkish citizens in its composition.
In particular, the Turkish members were the ones who organized the importation of heroin into Ukraine on a ship that arrived at the Odesa Sea Commercial Port in December 2020. The drugs were hidden in a food container.

As we reported earlier, back in November State Border Guard Service workers found brickets of cocaine that arrived in Odesa from Ecuador.
"Odesa border unit, together with law enforcers detected 20 brickets of cocaine in Pivdenny seaport. The drug was found in a container from Ecuador. Brickets with cocaine were hidden in the air hatches of a container with bananas," reads the message.
