According to the SBU, the attack is aimed at big state and private enterprises.
“The main aim is to break the normal operation of informational systems which may destabilize the situation in the country. The SBU experts received data that an attack may be performed with use of software updates, including those for the publicly available applied software. The mechanism of the implementation may be similar to that of the cyber attack in June, 2017,” the agency warns.
SBU published their recommendations to prevent unauthorized blocking of informational systems:
- to update the signatures of the anti-virus software on servers and working stations;
- to save information, processed on computer;
- to provide everyday system software including Windows OS of all versions.
As it was reported earlier, on July 27 a large-scale cyber attack hit dozens of companies and enterprises across Ukraine and later spread over the world.
