“The scientists believe that the election opportunities, as well as opportunities for investment and the government benefits, would make the realization of the project HypeUA possible. The scientists estimate that Hyperloop can not only become a new type of transport but also encourage the development in other fields,” the report said.
On January 25, the project "High-speed transport Hyperloop for the short-term period in Ukraine" and the scientific and technological research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the implementation of Hyperloop in Ukraine were presented.
In order to bring the project into life, it is necessary to analyze passenger flows, to evaluate the industrial potential of Ukraine, to conduct international Hyperloop competitions and to support and develop innovations. Only such organizations visited the presentation, which is ready to participate in the development of the technology in Ukraine. The next planned step is the realization of the project in the Transport Innovation Center of the Transport Tech Hub.
A memorandum on launching the HypeUA Transport Innovation Project in the framework of the innovative transport technologies in Ukraine project, firstly the High-speed transport system Hyperloop, was signed in the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on February 2018.
The project includes creating the testing ground in the Dnipro city and the encouraging of Ukrainian companies to invent new technologies for the project.
After that, the company Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has also joined to the project after signing the memorandum on cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, which includes the building of the new pilot Hyperloop line 15 km long.
Hyperloop is the innovative type of terrestrial (or underground) transport, which is an air cushion train that moves under forevacuum conditions. The Transport Innovation Project was suggested by the American inventor Elon Musk in 2013. He represented his idea as the fifth transport type after trains, plains, cars, and ships.
