As of now, Ukraine's mortality rate from coronavirus is 2.1%, which is one of the lowest ones in Europe. This was announced by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov during a briefing that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

According to Stepanov, the mortality rate from Covid-19 has decreased by 30% since April.

"If we look at the overall mortality rate from coronavirus in Ukraine, we have something to be proud of. We have one of the lowest percentages in Europe, 2.1% is the current mortality rate in our country," the official said.

As we reported earlier, as of early September 9, Ukrainian medics confirmed 143,030 cases of coronavirus infection.

The relevant statistics were provided by the National Security and Defense Council.

The overall number of those who deceased now makes 2,979 (+45 over the last 24 hours); at that, 63,546 patients recovered, as repeated lab tests did not reveal any traces of the virus in their bodies. 

Most of the cases are observed in Kyiv (310), Kharkiv region (291), and Ternopil region (244).
