Ministry of Health plans to carry out 80,000 coronavirus tests a week. Deputy Minister Viktor Lyashko stated this during a briefing, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
He added that the virological laboratories that conducted testing for coronavirus were not loaded for 100%.
"The question is that we are starting to look at and see if virology laboratories are loaded. Virology labs are not loaded for 100% today, so we are reviewing and looking at sample delivery algorithms. I do not want to blame anyone, the question is where there may be a failure of sampling for delivery. We do not call for thoughtless testing, we call for working on clear algorithms," Viktor Lyashko said.
It should be noted that currently 1,500 samples are tested daily in Ukraine, i.e. 10.5 thousand per week.
As we reported earlier, 1,462 cases of COVID-19 have been officially reported in Ukraine.
As of 9:00 am, on April 7, Ukraine observed 45 deaths, 28 patients successfully recovered. Over the last 24 hours, 143 new cases have been recorded.
