Ukraine's MFA reacts to death of Ukrainian sailor in Celtic Sea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs finds out the circumstances of the death of Ukrainian sailor in the Celtic Sea. Vasyl Kyrylych, the head of the MFA Department of Consular Services, reported this to UNN.

"In connection with this tragic incident, the consul immediately contacted the shipowner, the agent of the vessel, the crewing agency, and the police. The consul provides all necessary measures in this situation," Vasyl Kyrylych said.

Today it became known that the 57-year-old Ukrainian sailor sustained injuries incompatible with life during a storm in the Celtic Sea.

"The ALMA bulk carrier (IMO: 9231676, the flag of Malta) contacted MRCC Corsen, France, and requested medical attention for a 57-year-old Ukrainian sailor who was in critical condition. An injury was received as a result of a storm at 10.10 pm UTC on November 22 in the Celtic Sea, approximately 150 km west of Brest,"  the report said.

The medical team, which was delivered aboard the ship, stated the death of a sailor.
