Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainians to refrain from traveling to Indonesia due to tsunami

The Foreign Ministry recommends tourists to report the embassy and relatives as soon as possible

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine advised Ukrainians to refrain from traveling to Indonesia, where 168 people died of tsunami. The respective message appeared on Facebook page of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.  

‘Due to the tsunami that occurred in Sunda Strait on December 22, which affected the shores of Lampung and Banten provinces, including the popular tourist sites along the coastline of Anyer town, resulting in human and infrastructure damage, as well as an increase in the activity of Anak-Krakatau volcano, we recommend the citizens of Ukraine to refrain from visiting these areas. Those who appeared to be in the disaster area are advised to strictly follow the instructions of local authorities and rescue service regarding safety measures and closely monitor their messages,’ reads the message.
