Some of Kyiv’s New Year locations may be closed due to violations of quarantine restrictions, but the country's main Christmas tree is not in danger. This was stated by the head of the main department of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv Oleh Ruban, Ukranews reports.
"We are not going to limit the access to the Christmas tree. The risk of infection transmission in open locations is quite insignificant," Ruban stated.
As we reported earlier, the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine launched an environmental campaign "Christmas tree - 2021", during which the inspectorate, law enforcement bodies, and local governments will strengthen control over the legal sale of Christmas trees.
"To counteract illegal logging, territorial divisions of the State environmental inspectorate together with local governments and law enforcement agencies are strengthening control over compliance with environmental legislation to protect forest plantations and are initiating an environmental campaign – ’Christmas tree – 2021’,” the statement said.
