The largest Christmas tree set in Kyiv will be lit on December 19, when Ukrainians, - especially children, - mark the Day of Saint Nicholas the Wondermaker. The city’s state administration reported that on Friday, December 16.

The tree will be lit on 8 p.m. Monday; the ceremony will feature performances by the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Ukraine, the Municipal Academic Choir Chapel of Lev Revutsky, pop music performers and many others.

This year’s Christmas tree is set on Sofiyska square in the downtown Ukrainian capital; it is 26 meters high.
