Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reports first "unfavorable events" after vaccination with CoviShield

Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine claimed the first seven "unfavorable events" among those vaccinated with CoviShield vaccine. Viktor Lyashko, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine said so during the briefing.

He added that 1179 people were vaccinated in Ukraine during the last 24 hours. In seven cases, side effects were detected. 

"As of February 25, first reports appeared about the unfavorable events in terms of immunization. These aren't serious", Lyashko said. He never specified what kind of side effects did these people experience.

According to him, one message came from Chernihiv region and another six from Cherkasy region.

As the vaccination campaign covered all the regions of Ukraine, the number of people who received the dose of CoviShield vaccine reached 1,338 across the country. Press office of Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported that on Telegram.

The number of people who received their shot of vaccine during the last 24 hours made 1,179. The largest number of newly inoculated people is observed in Cherkasy region, central Ukraine (90 inoculations).

The vaccination campaign started in Ukraine on February 24; Kyiv joined the initiative on February 25. Yevhen Horenko, the emergency physician of Cherkasy regional hospital became the first Ukrainian citizen to get his shot of vaccine.
