Within a week the number of newly diagnosed cases of coronavirus infection in Ukraine will reach 5,000 per day. This was announced by Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov during a briefing, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"If we do not reconsider our attitude to the rules and recommendations, we will grow very rapidly. We've already had more than 4,500 Covid -19 cases per day last week. I am confident that this week we will cross the 5,000 mark, because of our attitude, and we can grow further," he said.

As we reported, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov also announced that the number of people hospitalized daily is increasing, and the number of patients in hospitals is currently at 16,745. 

"As of mid-July, that number was 3,500. The number of people in hospitals has increased almost fivefold. Our medical system has a certain limit, no matter how much we increase the number of beds. Today there are already 37,000 beds available. The maximum number is up to 50,000. We cannot use beds that, for example, are applied to treat patients with heart attacks, strokes, cancer, and all the other diseases that exist in our country. That is the maximum number," Stepanov informed.

As of morning, October 5, 230 236 cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Ukraine, 4 430 people died as a result of the virus, and 101 252 managed to overcome the disease.
