Ilya Yemets, Ukraine's Health Minister, initiates an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada for the sake of the law on coronavirus, the press service of the Ministry reports.
"We must protect Ukraine from the coronavirus and contain an outbreak. For that purpose, we need to unite all branches of government and all political forces. Now it's time to take effective measures, so I propose to convene an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada and to adopt the corresponding law," Yemets said.
An extraordinary meeting of the parliament will be convened to vote for the bill, which provides for a number of measures to protect Ukraine to counter the coronavirus disease Covid-19.
As we reported yesterday, Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry has officially confirmed two new cases of Chinese coronavirus in Ukraine. Both patients in Zhytomyr region are isolated, and the symptomatic treatment is underway.
Previously, a man in Chernivtsi was diagnosed with it; his current health state is satisfactory.
Another case is spotted in Radomyshl, Zhytomyr region. A 71-year-old woman appealed to the hospital too late and attended the church since the moment of infection.
The local authorities of Radomyshl, Zhytomyr region (northern Ukraine) announced the emergency mode in this town. The decision takes effect on Friday, March 13.
