Ukraine’s Health Ministry adds new drug to protocol of Covid-19 treatment

The Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine renewed the protocol of treatment of Covid-19 and added a new drug – favipiravir as Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov reported on Facebook.

“Today, we have renewed the protocol of treatment of patients with Covid-19. Additionally, we put emphasis on the clear algorithm of using of medicines and added one more drug – favipiravir,” he wrote.

The minister added that the amendments were made on the basis of the new data of Japanese, Austrian and other world regulators on the results of the meeting of leading Ukrainian doctors and experts.

Maksym Stepanov specified that the drugs mentioned in the protocols cannot be purchased as all of them are sold by prescription. The ministry will enhance control over the trade of these drugs.

According to the minister, these medicines are intended only four use at the medical facilities, with the consideration of the adverse reactions and only under the observation of the doctors and it is mentioned in the protocol.

As we reported, in Ukraine, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection increased by 2,203 cases. 311 new cases of infection were spotted. 69 people died, while 61 patients recovered.
