In Ukraine, the number of people hospitalized daily is increasing, and the number of patients in hospitals is currently at 16,745. This was announced by Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov during a briefing that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"As of mid-July, that number was 3,500. The number of people in hospitals has increased almost fivefold. Our medical system has a certain limit, no matter how much we increase the number of beds. Today there are already 37,000 beds available. The maximum number is up to 50,000. We cannot use beds that, for example, are applied to treat patients with heart attacks, strokes, cancer, and all the other diseases that exist in our country. That is the maximum number," he said.
As we reported earlier, Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak believes that Ukraine is prepared for the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I cannot say that we are not prepared. Today, I believe that the situation is absolutely under control. Naturally, we are observing. We are doing a record number of tests. Including such growth is connected with this, we are not hiding anything," he assured.
