Head of the Health Ministry Maksym Stepanov got infected with coronavirus. He stated this on his Facebook page. Stepanov is on self-isolation now.

"I received a positive test for Covid-19 today. I will be self-isolating at home, working as usual, but remotely," Stepanov said.

The minister urged all Ukrainians to observe quarantine rules and not to visit crowded places.

Previously, we reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky, Chief of the President's Office Andriy Yermak and the Head of Ukrainian Parliament  Dmytro Razumkov got infected. They feel fine and stay on self-isolation.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to introduce the weekend quarantine all across the country.

The strict quarantine will act from 00:00 a.m. Saturday until 00:00 a.m. Monday. On the weekend, only objects of the critical infrastructure, particularly, groceries, drug stores and transport will work in the country.

The work of shopping malls, sport centers, fitness centers, swimming polls, theaters and holding of the mass events is banned.

Besides, the hosting of people in restaurants, cafes and entertainment facilities is banned.
