Ukraine's Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov got himself vaccinated against coronavirus infection. He became the first among top-rank Ukrainian officials who were vaccinated.
Stepanov got an injection of CoviShield vaccine manufacted by the Indian institute.
According to the official, such step is necessary to reduce the amount of fake reports and manipulations in terms of safety and efficiency of the vaccine.
"It's something that can protect you for sure. And when you choose whether you get vaccinated or not, consider this - if you're not vaccinated, you might be playing a game... If you, God forbid, get sick, you never know how that disease goes. But if you got vaccinated, you aren't going to get sick or experience a mild form of the disease", the Minister said.
The vaccination campaign in Ukraine kicked off on February 24. The first phase commenced, involving medics and the military; they are getting shots of CoviShield vaccine.
As of early March 1, more than 3,000 people got vaccinated.
