Ukraine's Fiscal Service claims about cyber-attack on its site

The service has already informed the administration of the State Special Communication on DoS-attack

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine claimed that the e-resources of the department sustained the cyber-attacks as the press service of it reported on Facebook.

"On October 8, since 18:00, at the external virtual address "Electronic cabinet" on the internet (cabinet.sfs.gov.ua) and on October 9, since 9:00, the external virtual address "Official web-portal of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine" (sfs.gov.ua), a large amount of the requests that led to the increase of the load on the central processor of the firewall (up to 100%) were spotted and it caused the unstable work of it," the message said.

The provider identified the cyber-attack on the refuse of the service (Denial of service attack, DoS attack) and used the defensive mechanism from the attack.

The State Fiscal Service noted that the mentioned interference led to the inaccessibility of the resources "Electronic cabinet" and "Official web-portal of State Fiscal Service of Ukraine" for some users on the internet and brings their apologies.

Earlier, the Netherlands accused Russia of trying to carry out a cyber attack at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to access data of the international investigation of MH17 tragedy.

Also, Latvian special services accused Russia of committing cyber attacks at the Latvian Defence and Foreign Ministries and other institutions.
