Ukrainian filmmaker Iryna Tselyk debuted in the full-length category - and now it makes her path to the victory in international film festivals. Her documentary called The Earth Is Blue As an Orange entered the contest program of the 70th Berlin IFF. The event is to be running from February 20 till March 1, 2020. 

This year, the Generation program includes 59 works in the contest; 29 world premieres and 11 debut films from 34 countries worldwide. The share of female film directors makes 58 percent.

The Earth Is Blue As an Orange reveals the story of a family that lives on the frontline in eastern Ukraine, struggling with everyday injuries of living amidst the armed conflict. While doing so, Anna and four of her children shoot an amateur film about their life - under quite surrealistic circumstances.

The film's world premiere will take place at Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2020.

As we reported, the premiere of film Nomery (Numbers), based on the play of Oleg Sentsov, would take place within Berlin International Film Festival on February 18. The film will be presented within the special showcase dedicated to the anniversary of the Berlinale.
