Officers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will implement all necessary measures to provide the security during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Emergency Service Chairman claimed this during the meeting with Eliav Belotserkovsky, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Ukraine as the press service reported.
"The State Emergency Service along with the authorities, the National Police, Security Service of Ukraine has worked out the action plan in the case any emergency occurs," the message says.
Particularly, the Cherkasy garrison will stay in high alert regime during the celebration. From September 4 to September 14, the integrated security detachment consisting of 110 members of personnel and 22 units of the rescue and firefighting equipment, diving detachment, chemical group and bomb squad will be deployed in Uman.
Moreover, rescuers and a medical helicopter will watch round-the-clock the places where the pilgrims are staying.
"The forces and equipment of the Emergency Service can guarantee the fire safety of Hasidim during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah," the message says.
As it was reported last year, the Hasid pilgrims from around the globe keep coming to Ukraine to celebrate the New Year according to the Jewish calendar. In 2017, Uman hosted about 30,000 Hasidic Jews, who came to honor the memory of their spiritual leader Rabbi Nachman at his grave on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.
