Ukraine’s education Minister Liliya Hrynevych held a meeting with Isabelle Dumont, the French ambassador to Ukraine, due to the fact that a Year of the French language kicks off in Ukraine this September. The press service of the Ministry reported that.
“The parties agreed to develop a detailed plan on events of the year of the French language in Ukraine. The embassies of other French-speaking countries may also be engaged in its creation and implementation,” reads the message.
Hrynevych listed encouragement of winners of French language Olympiads, support of teachers of French, who win the Teacher of the Year in the relevant nomination among the events to be held to popularize French in Ukraine through the sphere of education.
“In 2018, 302 teachers of French are being retrained on PRO FLE programme, developed by the International Center of Educational Research (CIEP, an institution of the French Ministry of National Education, whose missions are part of the government’s international cooperation priorities) and the National Centre for Distance Education,” reads the message.
