Ukraine-U.S. rocket Antares goes to ISS

Ukrainian-American rocket Antares with Cygnus spaceship is on its way to the International Space Station. It was launched from the Wallops launch pad in Virginia, Ukrinform reports.

The launch took place on August 11 at 01.01 a.m local time. The mission was prepared by NASA and Northrop-Grumman company.

The spaceship is supposed to deliver the cargo of 3,720 kilograms to the ISS. It contains materials for scientific research and equipment for the crew. Cygnus is supposed to arrive to the ISS on August 12.

This is the 16th start of Antares with this space ship.

The main frame of the missile (without Russian components) was developed by Ukraine's Constructor Bureau Pivdenne and produced at Pivdenmash plant.
