Ukraine to use anti-flu vaccines from three foreign producers this season

This epidemic season, Ukraine will be using the vaccines against flu from three foreign producers. Press office of the Centre for Public Health reported that on Thursday.

1.25 million doses already reached the country. They were brought from France, Korea and the Netherlands.

The kinds of vaccines are as follows:

  • Vaxigrip Tetra (France) - 850,000 doses;
  • Influvac Tetra (Netherlands) - 200,000 doses;
  • JC Flu Quadrilent (Korea) - 200,000 doses (these already passed Ukraine's state quality control).

Earlier, Moderna company claimed that it develops the vaccine that combines the booster dose against Covid-19 and the experimental vacine against influenza. 

The producer hopes that as time passes, it will be able to add the other vaccines that are now in development (including the one against RS-virus) to Moderna's annual combined inoculation.

"We believe it's a bery big opportunity, if we can take the highly effective annual booster from multiple respiratory diseases at once to the market," said Stephane Bancel, Moderna CEO as he faced the press during the presentation for investors.
