Ukraine will switch to winter time on Sunday, October 29.
As you know, on October 29 at 4:00 a.m. Kyiv time, the summer time will be canceled, so the clock will be set an hour back.
We recall, the transition to winter and summer time occurs in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on May 13, 1996, # 509 "On the procedure for calculating time on the territory of Ukraine."
The "summer-winter" time was first introduced in the UK in 1908 for saving and rational distribution of electricity during the day. In the USSR, this trend was introduced in 1981.
Now more than 110 countries switch time twice a year. At the same time, 160 countries do not do this.
