Ukrainian Ministry of Healthcare intends to replace Russian coronavirus test systems. It is expected that a Ukrainian prototype test system will be released in 2022. The chief state sanitary doctor of the country Ihor Kuzin declared it, as TSN reports.

“We will be able to get the prototype fast enough - in the I-II quarters of 2022. The launch of production can be limited only by a rather complex bureaucratic procedure, price formation, public procurement mechanism, prevention of monopoly position,” Kuzin said.

He explained that these are “simple test systems that are purchased in very large quantities, particularly in Russia.”  Most of these test systems are indeed Russian, but Ukrainian private companies are already reconfiguring their production in order to create test systems used to diagnose coronavirus.

As it was reported earlier, the chief state sanitary doctor declared that this autumn Ukraine will face the pessimistic scenario of a new wave of a coronavirus - on 30-40% more cases of infection than there were last autumn. However, this will not interrupt the vaccination of the population. According to Kuzin, the collective immunity of Ukrainians may be formed at the end of the year.
