Artificial intelligence to replace a judge for the first time in Ukraine

The artificial intelligence system will consider cases of formally defined administrative offenses in one of In Ukraine's courts of the first instance. The launch of the pilot project is initiated by the High Council of Justice, the press service of the council reports.

"The High Council of Justice has decided to approve the relevant draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ‘On approval of the action plan for the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in Ukraine’," the statement said.

It is reported that a pilot project on the use of artificial intelligence will be launched on the basis of one of the first instance courts.

"Like all companies, we regularly evaluate our business. This can lead to increased investments in some places and, from time to time, to redistribution in others. These decisions are not the result of the current pandemic," reads the message.

The automated systems will carry out the tasks of selecting headlines and photos for the MSN website.

The High Council of Justice believes that the pilot project will allow developing practical material on the most common minor administrative offenses (with a formal composition). This will form an idea of the practice of law, difficulties in its judicial interpretation, errors and various measures to overcome them, as well as reduce the workload of judges.
