Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry reported that Chinese ambassador and representatives of COVAX program informed the Cabinet on the terms of supply of the vaccine to Ukraine in April and May, respectively. Minister Maksym Stepanov said so on air of Nash TV channel on Tuesday.
"We expect Pfizer [to be delivered] from two sources. First, these are the 473,000 doses from COVAX. We received an official confirmation from COVAX that it will be delivered on May 17-18. Besides, in May, we also expect to get some 500,000 doses from Pfizer company - under a direct contract", Stepanov said.
Besides, the Minister said that 500,000 doses of CoronaVac, the Chinese vaccine are supposed to be delivered in Ukraine by April 30.
According to Stepanov, these batches of drugs will aim to vaccinate the citizens from risk groups: those aged over 60 and people who suffer from co-morbidities.
Earlier, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said that by the end of May, Ukraine should get 1.4 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
Recently, 367,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were delivered from South Korea.
