The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated one billion hryvnias (35,5 million dollars) from the coronavirus control fund to purchase rapid coronavirus tests (a test that determines whether a person has had Covid-19 or not). This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmygal during today's government meeting.

As the Prime Minister noted, tests will be received mainly by family doctors and ambulance teams.

"So we will have an effective and quick tool for additional testing. Another $ 32,000 will be spent on additional oxygen for hospital beds in all regions. Additional funds will also be sent to the regions to prepare the organization of mobile hospitals," he added.

As we reported, over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian medics confirmed 12,496 new cases of infection with coronavirus. The number of newly infected includes 535 children and 529 doctors. 570,153 people got infected in Ukraine since the beginning of the pandemic. 259,079 recovered (+8,096 over 24 hours), 10,112 passed away (+256).

Also, Ukrainian citizens will be notified about being in one room with a person that is infected with Covid-19.

"The national system will notify citizens that they were in the same room with a Covid-19 patient. The government will introduce it in the near future,"  Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal announced this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
