Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry will impose the weekend quarantine next week - because of the rapid spread of Covid-19 in this country. The restrictions will become active since November 14 and 15. Maksym Stepanov, the Healthcare Minister said so during the evening show at 1+1 TV channel.
According to the Minister, only critical infrastructure objects will work on these days, including grocery shops, pharmacies and public transport.
"When we mention anti-epidemic restrictions, we definitely consider the given situation. And we clearly realize that we can't impose total lockdown, which certain European countries did - not for two or three weeks. This is why our offer is to set such a tough quarantine on weekends, that is, Saturday and Sunday. That means, we'll only have grocery shops, pharmacies and, of course, the [public] transport working. That is, everything that concerns critical infrastructure. The rest would not be working on weekends", the Minister said.
According to him, this will allow to break the chain of passing the infection, as people would stop the live communication process.
"It's definitely not this weekend. We understand one has to prepare. I can't rule out we'll be offering to do so next weekend already", Stepanov added.
