Ukraine to host Days of Accessible Cinema festival for the first time

Days of Accessible Cinema festival will be taking place in Ukraine for the first time ever. The online event, slated for October 26-31, will be a free one. All films shown during the festival will be available for the audience with impaired vision or hearing.

The program includes Ukrainian and foreign films, such as the legenary Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors by Serhiy Paradzhanov (1964), Earth by Oleksandr Dovzhenko (1930), and Lost Letter by Borys Ivchenko (1984). The films will be available in the open access for everyone willing to watch them. They will be available on the official website of Dostupne Kino agency, as well as online cinema theaters Takflix and Sweet.TV, as long as the user completes the registration process at Dostupne Kino website.

The list will also include modern Ukrainian films premiered in 2019, such as Olena Demyanenko's Hutsulka Ksenia, as well as some of the worldwide known films; these will be announced later.

The audience with impaired vision or hearing will be able to watch the movies using free smartphone apps Earcatch and Subcatсh.
