Ukraine is ready to work on the issue of visa-free regime with Canada, Petro Proshenko said in a statement after his meeting with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, as the press service of Ukraine’s President informs.
“I am confident that it will facilitate not only the maintenance of family contacts, but also the expansion of the Ukraine-Canada economic and cultural cooperation,” the Head of State told.
He added that the parties “agreed to reduce the number of visa refusals significantly. For visas to be valid for the validity of the passport. So far, for the first stage”.
Petro Poroshenko also reminded that Ukraine cancelled visas for citizens of Canada in 2005.
As it was reported earlier, this year 34% of applications for Canadian visas by Ukrainians were refused.
