The Chief of the National Police Sergy Knyazev and the Head of Department of the Staffing signed the decree and approved the proper regulation of the creation of the Police Academy of the National Police of Ukraine. Knyazev reported this at Facebook.

According to him, the Police Academy will be situated in Kyiv and the first enrolment will make 500 people and further it is planned to accept 1-1.200 students.

The Chief of the National Police emphasized that the aim of Academy creation is the decrease of the reject during the personnel selection.

‘In time the citizens will stop to see the police as the soulless, undereducated, indifferent of the eventual result and unmotivated officials in the police uniform’, he noted.

Knyazev offered the new system of the selection ‘person comes to the police, and then works as the patrol officer or at other ordinary posts (except some peculiar detachments)’.

‘We can recommend the patrol officer with 1-3 years of the experience for the education at the higher education institutions of Ministry of Internal Affairs answering the call of heart and presence of the competency. And then the person can understand to the full extent what form of the education to choose: stationary or remote education. But the person is already motivated’, Knyazev said.
