Ukraine took the 64th place at the standards of living among 128 countries of the world according to the results of the global research of the Social Progress Index that was worked out by the American non-governmental organization the Social Progress Imperative. Ukraine scored 68.35 points.
The Social Progress Index is the combined index of the international research project the Social Progress Imperative. It estimates the achievements of the world counties from the point of view of their social development.
This year Ukraine joined the list of the countries with the development above average.
The improvement occurred in such points as Access to Information and Communications, Personal Freedom and Choice and Access to Higher Education.
At the same time there is the inconspicuous decline in such points as Personal Safety and Tolerance. Ukraine received the highest scores for the Nutrition and Basic Medical Care, Access to Basic Knowledge.
The leader of the rating is Denmark, Finland took the second place and Iceland and Norway shared the third and the forth places with the equal amount of scores.
Switzerland, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand composed the TOP-10.
Ukraine is found side by side with Thailand, Belarus, Dominican Republic and Republic of South Africa.
The neighbors of Ukraine took such places: Slovakia -30, Poland – 32, Romania – 44, Russia – 67 and Moldova – 71.
