The production of a drug for the treatment of COVID-19 has officially begun in Ukraine. This was stated by Mykhailo Radutsky, the head of Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on nation health, medical assistance, and health insurance.
Darnitsa Pharmaceutical Company has passed state registration for hydroxychloroquine. It is an experimental drug that is included in the coronavirus treatment protocol.
"I would like to thank the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Experimental Center of Ukraine’s Healthcare Ministry that have worked in a coordinated and prompt manner to give the Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers an opportunity to quickly release the necessary medicines to the market," Radutskyi wrote.
He added that it would allow providing Ukrainians with "quality and effective drugs on their own."
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the peak of the coronavirus epidemic in this country is not there yet.
The crucial period is to begin in the second decade of April.
