7,925 new cases of coronavirus infection have been observed in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov on his Facebook page.
The largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kyiv (794), Donetsk (588), Zaporizhia (554), Lviv (482), and Mykolaiv (460) oblasts.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 1,138,764 cases of Covid-19: 837,063 people have recovered (+10,192 per day), 20,376 people (+162 per day) have succumbed to the disease.
As we reported earlier, Stepanov stated that the Health Ministry did not see the need for extending the ongoing lockdown restrictions.
"If the situation begins to deteriorate sharply and the number of patients begins to grow at a hurricane rate, as a result, the number of people who are hospitalized, which can potentially lead to a critical load on the medical system, then we will offer the introduction of a new lockdown," the statement said.
