Ukraine registers AstraZeneca vaccine for urgent medical use

The Health Ministry of Ukraine has registered the AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus for urgent medical use on May 31 as the World Health Organization reported.

It is noted that until the end of the week, within the global COVAX initiative, Ukraine will get 705,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. It will aim for a vaccination with the second dose of people, who received the first dose and 12 weeks passed.

“Particularly, the medics and employees of the healthcare facilities, partakers of the Joint Forces Operation in the east of Ukraine, social employees, priests, employees of the Internal Ministry, the Security Service of Ukraine, people at the age of over 65. Besides, people who vaccinated with the remaining doses or public figures will receive the second dose,” the message said.

As we reported, 13,937 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Ukraine on May 31. 0,232 people received one dose of the vaccine, and 3,705 received two doses. The vaccination is held by 215 mobile brigades and 317 vaccination points. As of June 1, 2021, 615,238 people entered the waiting list for vaccination against Covid-19.
