3,939 people have gotten infected with Covid-19 in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov on Facebook.

It is worth noting that 15,052 people managed to overcome the disease during the previous day.

"As of January 19, 2021, 3,939 new cases of coronavirus disease were recorded in Ukraine. In particular, 131 children and 238 health workers contracted it," the statement said.

1,167,655 people have become ill with the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine: 886,248 of them have managed to overcome it, 21,046 have succumbed to it.

The largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kyiv (637), Odesa (453), Zaporizhia (449), Kharkiv (237), and Cherkasy (208) oblasts.

As we reported earlier, Israeli police are currently investigating the alleged illegal smuggling of a coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine.

Viktor Lyashko, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, in turn, stated that the information about the smuggling was fake.
