Ukraine receives 159,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine

The UNICEF has supplied to Ukraine 159,000 vaccines against coronavirus produced by Sinovac. The supply of the vaccine was held by the COVAX initiative as the Health Ministry reported.

“In Ukraine, the level of incidence with Covid-19 grows; 98% of hospitalized people are not vaccinated. It is very important that more Ukrainian vaccinate today to protect them from severe Covid-19, hospitalization, and death. Thanks to our partners, Ukrainian have the access to the vaccine,” Health Ministry of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.

As we reported, Kharkiv Lekhim enterprise plans to launch the production of the vaccines in filled syringes, including the vaccines against Covid-19, next year.

At the end of December 2020, Ukraine paid an advance payment of 34.5 million dollars for the future delivery of 1.9 million doses of CoronaVac under an agreement between DP Medical Procurement and Lekhim private company. The total number of purchased doses of the vaccine (ie 1.9 million doses) should be delivered to Ukraine by May 31.
