Ukraine has become a member of the European Union Health Committee. Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov announced this at a briefing.

"We received a letter from the European Commission, Ukraine was approved to the European Union Health Committee as an observer," he said.

According to Stepanov, this is an important event for Ukraine, since the committee includes all the leading EU countries, and at its meetings, they consider options for responding to situations that threaten people's health.

As we reported before, over the past day, another 433 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus were recorded in Ukraine; in total, 18,291 people were infected during the pandemic in the country.

According to the Center for Public Health, as of May 17, 514 deaths were also recorded in Ukraine, 5,116 patients recovered.

Also, Heads of Ukrainian healthcare institutions neglect the requirement to report all coronavirus-infected physicians to the State Labor Service, which is investigating each such case.
