Ukraine is fully prepared to stage the final matches of the female and male 2018 UEFA Champions League in Kyiv on 24 and 26 May, the head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Ihor Rainin said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Ukraine is fully ready to host the final matches of the 2018 Champions League final. The country has worked hard to get ready. We have introduced a number of measures in order to ensure these events go as planned”, he said during a meeting of the committee for the preparation and staging of the 2018 Champions League Final, the official website of the President of Ukraine reported on Thursday.
Raynin expressed confidence in the notion that on 11-12 May, UEFA representatives will present their final report on the safeguards of safe functioning of all the necessary systems and completion of all works required for the staging of the football game.
The head of the Presidential Administration pointed out that the final games of the UEFA Champions League Final are classified as matters of hightened risk, which means that Ukrainian law enforcement officers shall demonstrate their professionalism and minimize all the possible risks for the people that will be visiting Ukraine.
In his turn, the UEFA Events SA executive director Martin Callen was grateful to all of the committee’s members for the preparation works. This has happened exactly because of you. Undoubtedly, this will be a great final game both for the tournament and for the city of Kyiv”, - he said.
The UEFA representative reminded that there are still three weeks left till the event and expressed confidence in the fact that it will be organized at a satisfactory level. “I am sure that we will all be happy with the results after the final game”, - M. Cullen underlined.
