Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak believes that Ukraine is prepared for the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and the situation is under control, Ukraine 24 reports.
"I cannot say that we are not prepared. Today, I believe that the situation is absolutely under control. Naturally, we are observing. We are doing a record number of tests. Including such growth is connected with this, we are not hiding anything," Yermak assured.
Yermak noted that conference calls are held almost every day under the chairmanship of President Zelensky. Almost all top officials of the country participate, meetings are often held with the governors, the president travels a lot around the country, visits medical institutions, listens to the reports from the local governors and specialized doctors.
Yermak pointed out that the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic could not be avoided by anyone in this world.
As of October 3, 222 322 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine. Over the past day, Covid-19 was confirmed in 4661 people. In total, 4353 people (+92) died as a result of complications caused by the disease, but 98,737 (+2146) patients have already recovered - a repeated laboratory test did not reveal a virus in their bodies. The number of active cases of Covid-19 is 119,232.
