Ukraine occupies the second place on the continent on the incidence of tuberculosis based on a number of ill per 100, 000 people. Uliana Suprun, the acting Healthcare Minister of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
She emphasized that the epidemics of tuberculosis is a serious issue for the health system of Ukraine.
“Almost every fourth case of tuberculosis in Ukraine is multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis. It is not cured by the really effective anti-tuberculosis medicines. We are one of the world leaders of such form of tuberculosis,” she noted.
According to her the models of the medical outpatient services to the ill people were worked out and tested during last five years. However, there is a lot to do to make it operate fully.
