2,779 new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Ukraine over the last 24 hours. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov on his Facebook page.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, 1,197,107 people have contracted the disease: 965,835 (+12,538) have recovered, and 22,057 (+133) have succumbed to it.

The largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kyiv (375), Zaporizhia (276), Ivano-Frankivsk (255), Odesa (211), and Kharkiv (207) oblasts.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the government to present a detailed coronavirus vaccination program.

"It is crucial to determine the overall amount of vaccines, clear timing of vaccination process, a list of categories of the population that should be vaccinated in the first place. A vaccine management and logistics system must also be set up, including the establishment of systems of digital recording, vaccination, and distribution," said the president.
