Ukraine is not ready enough for possible epidemics and pandemics, so it may have some problems with developing a plan of defense against possible coronavirus attack. According to the Global Health Security Index rating, Ukraine's readiness to fight epidemics was defined as "below average" (38 points out of 100).
Ukraine ranks 94th among 195 countries, along with the Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Iran.
The United States of America (83.5 points), the United Kingdom (77.9), the Netherlands (75.6), Australia (75.5) and Canada (75.3) are better prepared to fight epidemics.
China, which is at the center of the coronavirus outbreak, ranked 51st (48.2 points).
As we reported earlier, Ukraine would issue a daily newsletter on the situation with the spread of coronavirus from China. This was reported by the press service of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), following the meeting of the task group on monitoring and analysis of the situation regarding the spread of the new coronavirus, which was held on Monday, January 27, by the head of the Council Oleksiy Danilov.
During the meeting, Danilov, in particular, emphasized the priority of fulfilling the task of enhanced control over the situation in terms of the possibility of spread and the coordinated work of all authorities in organizing specific measures.
