In Ukraine, it is necessary to adopt a law that will allow the seizure of land from owners for public use. At the same time, the state must compensate for the cost of land. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko stated this, according to Hromadske Radio.
“The state cannot build infrastructure because all the land has been privatized. The owners of the confiscated land will be countervailed according to the estimated normative money value. That is, the state compensates the conditional 30,000 hryvnias (about $1,000) per hectare, but will build a plant, a road, and appropriate infrastructure there. The situation is so absurd that we cannot even expand the facade of any road, for example, Kyiv - Odesa, so all areas are with “for sale” signs”, he said.
As it was reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill № 2194 in the second reading and as a whole, which, among other things, allows foreigners to buy non-agricultural land plots in Ukraine outside the settlements. 284 parliamentarians voted for the bill.
The law proposes to allow communities to dispose of agricultural land, which includes all steppes and meadowlands. Local governments will be able to manage lands outside the settlements.
