Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal charged the government to find the ways to establish and fund the ligh-level laboratory for development of vaccines. The term is two weeks. Press office of the government reported that on April 23.

According to the head of the Cabinet, the situation with the global deficit of vaccines demonstrates Ukraine's need to create its own facility to develop the drugs.

"Today, the entire world lines up for vaccine, and it becomes obvious that Ukraine needs its own base to develop the vaccines. It's a matter of strategic importance because the development of the modern infrastructure by the world standards will let us restore scientifice potential and develop the drugs for protection against various diseases", Denys Shmygal said.

According to Viktor Lyashko, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, one of the options would be to create the lab based on the facility of Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

"Besides, there's a plan to create an open scientific space in the Institute, which is supposed to unite all scientists to conduct research activity", Lyashko said. According to him, that could give an impetus for Ukraine to restore the production of immunobiological medications, including these for treatment of oncological diseases.
