Ukraine's government will most likely approve the booster dose of the vaccine against coronavirus. Healthcare Minister Viktor Lyashko said so in an interview with Radio Liberty.

The Healthcare Ministry also considers the option of repeated two-dose vaccination complex.

"[A booster dose] is most likely to be introduced. But so far one cannot tell whether it's going to be booster doses or repeated two-dose vaccinations. It's a matter to be considered further. But so far, we're not on that particular level of vaccination rate among the adult population to talk about the booster dose or repeated vaccination", he said.

Some countries already use this protocol to protect the population even more. The WHO is in no hurry to approve it, though.

Israel introduced the third dose in summer; people aged over 30 and teachers get the priority. Pregnant ladies are also recommended to get the booster dose.

Booster dose of the vaccine is an additional dose, which aims to improve the efficiency of the previous two doses.

Since the beginning of the vaccination campaing in Ukraine, almost 7.8 million people have been vaccinated. 6.3 million patients received both doses.
